MAGUS Stereo D8TR LCD Digital Stereomicroscope for Electronics Repair
With camera and monitor. Magnification: 3.25–55х. Greenough optical design. Trinocular microscope head, universal stand with micro adjustment, coarse and fine focusing, ring light with polarization filter, gooseneck light

The ready-made solution for soldering, repair, and quality control is based on MAGUS Stereo 8H series microscope head and universal MAGUS UT2 microscope stand.
The camera features an HDMI port to transmit the image directly to a monitor screen with no connection to a computer.
The stereomicroscope with the Greenough optical design provides accurate details of the surface topography with no loss of spatial orientation, thereby ensuring a large depth of field. The trinocular microscope with a monitor allows for two types of observation: through the eyepieces or on the monitor screen.
The microscope is equipped with two reflected light illuminators: ring light with a polarization filter and a gooseneck light.
The microscope optimizes workplace ergonomics, thus improving operator comfort and productivity.

Description

Digital camera
The digital camera is equipped with a 2MP sensor producing a realistic image in Full HD resolution (1920x1080px).
Observation on the screen places demands on the frame rate as the hands and instrument are moved under the microscope. The camera is mounted into the trinocular tube using a C-mount adapter and connected to the monitor through an HDMI output. HDMI mode supports 60 frames per second, which is the minimum to allow for a smooth, lag-free frame transfer to the screen. Autofocus ensures that the image stays in focus when the PCB is moved.
The Wi-Fi interface connects the camera to the computer to allow for the recording of the observation process as well as its intermediate and final outcomes.

LCD Monitor
The monitor connects to a microscope-mounted camera to display a real-time image. It is compatible with MAGUS HDMI cameras operating in Full HD resolution.
The screen diagonal is 13.3 inches. The IPS matrix delivers a bright image with large viewing angles: If you look at the monitor at an angle, there is no color distortion.
The monitor is placed on the table or attached to the camera.
The trinocular microscope with a monitor will be suitable for those who prefer to look forward rather than down at a circuit board. It will take some time to get used to such an observation method, but your back and neck will not get tired. This model will also suit educators when teaching students.
With the minimum magnification of the microscope, the field of view on the screen will be 44.3x24.9mm.

Microscope head
The zoom objective allows for the smooth change of magnification up to 8.4x with no loss of focus. The microscope generates an upright (not inverted) three-dimensional image. The 0.5x auxiliary objective lens changes the magnification range, field of view, and working distance of the microscope.
A magnification of 3.25–27.5x and a working distance of 177mm for soldering are achieved when the 0.5x auxiliary lens is used.
A magnification of 6.5–55x and a working distance of 105mm for quality control are achieved when the 0.5x auxiliary lens is not used.
Instrument manipulations require a larger field of view than visual observation in quality control. When viewed through the eyepieces, the diameter of the field of view with the 0.5x auxiliary lens is 67.7mm using 3.25x microscope magnification, and it is 8mm using 27.5x magnification.
The basic configuration includes 10x/22mm eyepieces with diopter adjustment and eye relief to work with glasses.

Illuminators
Different tasks require different types of illumination. The kit includes two illuminators. The ring light with a polarizer removes glare from metal. The gooseneck light creates shadows that enable our vision to detect surface topography.

Stand
The universal stand with a solid base minimizes the vibrations that are caused by movement, while the long horizontal arm expands the working area.
It is not always convenient to move the object in the optical path during work. Sometimes moving the microscope head is preferable. The micro adjustment knob allows for the smooth horizontal movement of the microscope head back and forth.
At the end of the stand, there is a mechanism to change the angle of the optical axis. The operator can observe the specimen that is on the table, looking at it from an angle. This feature makes it more convenient to perform manipulations, check the soldering quality, and observe curved objects.

Focusing mechanism
The focusing mechanism has coarse and fine focusing features. The fine focusing will make it easy to adjust the microscope when using magnifications above 40x. The focusing knobs are coaxial, i.e., located on both sides. The coarse focusing tension is adjustable.

Accessories and other off-the-shelf solutions
Comfortable work conditions improve operator productivity. Our off-the-shelf solutions are based on the experience of electronic engineers. At the same time, MAGUS offers other components that you can use to assemble the microscope kit based on your budget and preferences as well as the tasks to be solved. Moreover, in the future, you can supplement the kit with the required accessories.
