Magus CBF70 is a science camera with 21MP resolution and 4/3" sensor for the brightfield microscopy technique.
The camera delivers a realistic image at a 5280x3956px resolution. The camera is recommended for use with 4x, 10x, 20x, and 40x objectives. When working with low magnification objectives, the camera will allow you to see finer details.
Video is recorded at 49fps, 115fps, or 240fps depending on its resolution. Videos are smooth, with soft and subtle transitions between frames. The movement of the sample is displayed in real time with no delays. The camera provides convenient work with moving objects and is suitable for conducting demonstrations in a classroom.
The camera is equipped with a USB3.2 Gen 2 (Type-C) interface. The data transfer speed is 20 times faster than USB 2.0 cameras. The high-speed camera is recommended for professional laboratories, research, or university training.

Sensor
The camera is equipped with a SONY Exmor backlit color CMOS sensor. This technology increases light sensitivity and improves camera performance in low-light conditions.
Large sensor – 4/3''. The physical size of the sensor affects the image quality: The larger it is, the cleaner the image will be, and the greater the color depth and the wider the field of view. The 3.3x3.3µm pixel size provides a light sensitivity of 982.8mV at 1/30s. To maximize the field of view without distortion, we recommend using a 1x magnification adapter.
Software features
The camera uses software to display images on an external display, take photographs, record video, edit images, and measure linear and angular dimensions of objects and their structures. Before taking measurements, the software must be calibrated for each objective with a calibration slide.
Installation
The camera can be mounted on the microscope in two ways.
The first method involves installing it into the microscope’s camera port using a C‑mount adapter. Please note that this adapter may be included with your microscope, depending on its specific model and configuration.
The second method consists of inserting the camera into the eyepiece tube instead of the eyepiece. This requires a special C‑mount adapter as well as adapter rings that match the diameter of your microscope’s eyepiece tube. These components are not included in the standard package and are sold separately.
Before buying a camera, we recommend checking your microscope’s package contents and, if necessary, purchasing the appropriate adapters.
