The slider enables the darkfield technique on the microscopes of the MAGUS Bio 260 series. The darkfield technique is used to obtain the image of unstained translucent samples that do not absorb light well and are invisible in the bright field. The slider is a plate with two round slots. One slot is free for the brightfield technique. The second one is closed by a darkfield diaphragm. The slider is inserted in the slot of the Abbe condenser and then used instead of the dry darkfield condenser for work on objectives with N.A. up to 0.9. The slider makes it easy to switch from one observation technique to another.
To obtain a contrast image of the sample using the darkfield technique, we recommend using a 0.17mm thick coverslip and a 1.2mm thick slide.
